"Alamaze is one of the finest PBM games on the market, today. It is fast paced and exciting. It is full of all the action, intrigue and role-playing any player could ask for."

Paper Mayhem Magazine

Issue #28

"Among the many innovations in Alamaze is the truly fantastic magic system, unequaled anywhere in PBM. Not only does the magic system fit in with the entire game system hand-in-hand, it also shows the depth and massive amounts of designing and programming time spent lavishly in this game."

Great Leader, as a ruler in Alamaze,  you select the level of service you expect from your humble servants at Enlightened Age Entertainment, literally.  The Service Level indicates how many games (campaigns) you can enjoy at a time.

Service is provided on a subscription basis: a monthly membership which provides much greater value than previous models of games fashioned after Alamaze that charge by the turn.  The subscription allows you to have many more episodes (turns) for a lower charge.  We find almost all our players prefer this faster pace than the older style of  PBEM (play by email) and they appreciate the sustained excitement of the campaign it maintains.  Oh, and we are told they love the greater value, too.  Please explore our various service levels, below.

The Service Levels

Scout– New to Alamaze and PBEM styled games?  Episodic styled turn-based gaming with several days possible between turns is strange to some, who haven’t been in games of 15 (like Alamaze) or so players, each carefully crafting strategy in a single campaign that takes about three months to complete.  Scout provides one game of Alamaze Classic at a time for a more cautious approach while you learn the ropes.  $19.95 monthly.

Warrior– We recommend new players who have experienced either Alamaze itself or an Alamaze-styled game sometime before begin with the Warrior Service Level.  Why?   You won’t have the learning curve of a newbie to episodic (PBEM) strategy gaming – you already know the main precepts -  and you’ll get the huge value of Warrior, which provides two games of Alamaze Classic concurrently: double that of Scout, for just about 1/3 more in monthly subscription.   $29.95 monthly.

Commander -  Many Alamaze players will be joining at, or moving quickly to, Commander Level Service.   Others will join them because of the whole new arenas opened at this service level: Warlords of Alamaze and Standby.   An Alamaze game has 15 kingdoms, and in Classic Alamaze, 15 unique players.  In Warlords, a game has 12 kingdoms, but 4 players each control a team of 3 kingdoms vying for victory.  Commander Service is the first level at which a player may control multiple kingdoms in the same game in this more intense challenge among experienced players.  A Warlords game counts as 2 games against the service level, even though 3 kingdoms are controlled.  Additionally, Commander Service introduces the ability to assume control of an abandoned position early (or possibly, later) in a game, through Standby.   A dropped position before Turn 6 can be taken over by a Commander Level player at no cost.  A Commander Level player then can play in up to 4 games including the Standby position (3 Classic games plus 1 standby) for just a few dollars more than Warrior Level Service.  $39.95 monthly.

Victor -   Champions, the time has come.  You have won, or might have if not for some poor fortune, an Alamaze Campaign.  The rules and mechanics are now second nature, if not the subtleties and endless strategic possibilities.   Now you can advance your scope to include Titan Competition: an ultimate mano-a-mano against an equally skilled master in Alamaze where you each control six kingdoms.   Titan games are customized by its contestants, often involving a “draft” of the kingdoms under their control.  A Titans of Alamaze game counts as 3 games against your service level even though you control 6 kingdoms.  Once again, the bump up in games and standbys, about doubles the play of Commander Service for not much more, and adds the unparalleled Battle of Titans.  (Victor level provides 5 Classic games which also can become 1 Warlord and 1 Titan or 2 Warlord and 1 regular game plus the 2 standby positions.)  Hail Victor!   $49.95 monthly.

Imperator- You are one of the select leaders in the community, a member of the High Council, influencing decisions on the course of the larger world of Alamaze: what should be the next scenario?  What new rules, kingdoms, maps?  Should this persona have his lost Honor restored?  The Imperators may well decide.  You are an invited play tester in all new releases.  Able to play four Warlord games at once or two Titan games and a Warlord, plus three standbys.  Or 8 regular games.  $59.95 monthly.

All Service Levels:

Each new Classic game (after the first) entered in ALAMAZE requires a $15 game start-up fee that is purchased at the time of sign-up for the new game.  Warlords games, where a player controls 3 kingdoms in a game, have a $35 setup charge ($10 per kingdom), and Titan games (6 kingdoms controlled), has a $42 setup ($7 per kingdom).  Anonymous and other custom games have an additional $5 setup fee.
